a New Home for the Finch!

First, I want to say that this is a dream come true for me.  A big huge giant enormous dream come true... Building

So, here it is folks.  Isn't she pretty?!

The details:

We've signed a 1 month lease.  I am calling this a one month pop up shop.  Given that Finch can take wing like I think she can (haha- take wing...), we'll be signing a longer lease.

We'll be doing a Kickstarter campaign to secure the funds we need to make this a permanent location with top of the line machines for the classroom as well as for sale- more on that later.

Now for the gushy details: The building was built in 1790, at the time that George Washington was president.  It has always been retail, but at one time, the owner's family lived upstairs.  The space hosted a grocery store and the owner also had a dry goods shop across the street (isn't that fitting?!).  You can see from the photos that it has wonderful light and an awesome exposed brick wall as well as a beautiful bay window for great window displays (yes, folks, I'm hunting down some pinspiration for that project!).

I'll be posting about our hours sometime tomorrow, but we hope to be open 6 days a week starting this Tuesday!  You'll have lots and lots of opportunity for shopping and sewing time.  Hooray!  Please spread the word!  We want to stick it out right here!!

Lastly, please indulge me in publicly thanking a few very important people for helping me along the way:
