The October Finch Box is out! We hope you will all love, love, love what you find inside!
This month's sewists received the frame to make a unique clutch metal purse. We know many of you have been interested in these purses for a while! So we thought they would be just perfect for a Finch Box!
We created a full-color instruction booklet on how to make the purse. With our pattern, the making is super easy and straightforward. We also included 2 fat quarters of Rifle Paper fabrics. Use these fabrics for the project or choose your own! Each project kit included a 7oz SUL Quilt Basting Spray and the tube of glue you will need to complete the project. We are really looking forward to seeing all your stunning creations! Make sure to post using the #finchbox.
The Knit Box this month includes a skein of beautiful Arranmore Light yarn by The Fibre Co, either in Glenveagh Castle (a shade of gray) or St. Claire (a cream shade). Arranmore Light is authentic tweed yarn spun in a mill that traces its roots to the homespun tweed industry of 19th century County Donegal in Ireland. It is a blend of 80% merino wool, 10% cashmere, and 10% silk, making it beautifully fine and soft.
Our knitters received our first ever Finch Knit pattern designed by our very own instructor and designer, Liz Siciliano. Liz designed not one, but two fingerless mitts... Option one is a simple pattern knit flat, and seamed up the side, perfect for beginners. Option two is knit in the round and includes a thumb gusset and cable pattern. Unique to Finch, we tried to take a more instructional approach than is typical of knit patterns.
We couldn't resist including these precious ceramic flower stitch markers in our knitters' boxes. They are handmade by Melissa Jean, who, by the way, also makes the most exquisite ceramic buttons. As a finishing touch we've also given you a special pin to add to your homemade creations.
If you would love an extra purse kit to send as a gift to someone crafty, or a second skein of Arranmore Light (we have all the colors!!) to make a matching hat, head over to the Finch Box Mercantile.
We hope you enjoy your Finch Boxes as much as we enjoyed putting them together! xo, the Finchettes
