Level: Beginner to Intermediate Embark on an exciting Fair Isle knitting journey as we learn about the origins of fair isle patterning while learning to Colorwork. This class is tailored to your interests and skill level. Part of the fun will be picking the right project for YOU… and then we get to pick colors and yarn! In this customizable class, Nicole will guide you through the fundamentals of Fair Isle knitting, showing how it is one of the most exciting and rewarding type of knitting. We’ll cover color dominance, achieving the right tension, and proper yarn holding techniques. We’ll take a little time for story telling in this immersive experience…. We’ll learn a little bit of the history and context of colorwork tripping along to Norway and other nordic countries whilst we enjoy cultural foods. Whether you're new to Fair Isle knitting or looking to expand your skills, this class offers a unique opportunity to explore the colorful and intricate world of Fair Isle patterns while creating a project you'll love. Skills covered in class include: * Understanding color dominance * Achieving the right tension * Fixing mistakes in colorwork * Proper yarn holding techniques Supplies - ALL available at FINCH*: * Yarn for chosen project (amount and type to be determined based on project) * Appropriate knitting needles for chosen project * Stitch markers * Darning needle * Pattern for chosen project (provided) *10% discount for all class supplies purchased in store. Supplies not included unless otherwise stated. Basic knitting tools will be available for use at FINCH during class time. FINCH Classes are for adults only unless otherwise noted.

CLASS + EVENT POLICIES (In-person and Online)* • Full payment is due upon signing up for a class, whether in-person or online. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, the spot is not held until payment has been made. • 100% of class fees are refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before the class, whether in-person or online. • There is NO REFUND or TRANSFER to another class if upon cancellation LESS THAN 72 HOURS OF NOTICE IS GIVEN before the start date of the class, whether in-person or online. Sorry, we are unable to make exceptions.
