Pants 101 - Persephone pants (Fall/23)

Service Description

Skill level: Intermediate If the thought of making your own pants seems overwhelming to you, this is the class for you. In this class, we will cover choosing a size, tracing and blending between sizes; needle and thread choices, cutting and marking; seam finishes, button fly closure with fly front and the the tricky parts, such as topstitching, adding a waistband pocket and sewing through thick layers. At the end of class we will have an opportunity to check and assess fitting issues, which can be reworked on the pattern.  This is an intermediate level class. If you have sewn a couple garments, this will be the skill building you are looking for. Supplies - ALL available at F I N C H*: Persephone pants pattern by Anna Allen Clothing (ONLINE DOWNLOAD) Fabric with no stretch such as Cotton canvas, twill, denim or corduroy or fabric with no more than 5% stretch Jeans needles for the machine Polyester thread such as Metrosene or Gutermann Top stitching thread such as Mara 70 4 - 5 (5/8") buttons and 1 (3/4") button Swedish tracing paper Basic sewing/quilting tools will be available for use at FINCH during class time. *10% discount for all class supplies purchased in store. Supplies not included unless otherwise stated. FINCH Classes are for adults only unless otherwise noted.

Cancellation Policy

CLASS + EVENT POLICIES (In-person and Online)* • Full payment is due upon signing up for a class, whether in-person or online. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, the spot is not held until payment has been made. • 100% of class fees are refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before the class, whether in-person or online. • There is NO REFUND or TRANSFER to another class if upon cancellation LESS THAN 72 HOURS OF NOTICE IS GIVEN before the start date of the class, whether in-person or online. Sorry, we are unable to make exceptions.
