Service Description

Level: Beginner Our Peanut Butter Quilting Class is the perfect introduction to the world of quilting. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience but want to improve your skills, this class is for you. In this class, you'll learn all the basics of quilting, including how to choose and prepare fabric, how to cut and piece together blocks, and how to put the quilt top together. You'll also learn how to add batting and backing to your quilt and how to quilt your project by hand or machine. By the end of the class, you'll have completed a throw sized quilt top and will have the skills and confidence to tackle bigger quilting projects. Skills covered in class include: Fabric Selection Color Theory Accurate Cutting Chain Piecing Block Assembly Quilt Top Assembly Quilt Backing Assembly How to Quilt Binding The quilt process will be broken down into 3 parts: Week One: Choosing Fabric, Cutting, Begin Piecing blocks Week Two: Assembling Quilt Top Week Three: Backing, Quilt Sandwich and Binding Any work not completed in class for each week will need to be completed by the next class in order to stay on track. Please note, all FINCH Classes are designed with an adult student in mind, unless specifically stated in the class description. We ask that you only register for this class if you are 18 or older. Supplies - ALL available at F I N C H*: Required: 12 fat quarters (mix of bright/dark colors or prints) 3 yards background fabric, or Charm packs work great for this part of the quilt! You need a total of 168 5x5 Squares for a throw sized quilt. Backing fabric: 4 ¾ yards Batting 70”x80” Binding: ½ yard Thread Peanut Butter Quilt Pattern from Then Came June Optional but helpful: Rotary Cutter and mat 12”x12” acrylic ruler 6”x24” acrylic ruler Iron and ironing board Sewing machine Pins Thread snips Basic sewing/quilting tools will be available for use at Finch during class time, but students who need to finish work at home may need additional supplies. *We provide a 10% discount for all class supplies purchased in store. Supplies not included unless otherwise stated.

Cancellation Policy

CLASS + EVENT POLICIES (In-person and Online)* • Full payment is due upon signing up for a class, whether in-person or online. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, the spot is not held until payment has been made. • 100% of class fees are refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before the class, whether in-person or online. • There is NO REFUND or TRANSFER to another class if upon cancellation LESS THAN 72 HOURS OF NOTICE IS GIVEN before the start date of the class, whether in-person or online. Sorry, we are unable to make exceptions. This ensures that other students waiting for a seat in full classes are not missing learning opportunities due to late cancellations. • No-shows forfeit any refund or exchange. *EXCLUDES RETREATS- See Retreat listing for specific policies.
