Service Description

Level: ALL! This class is intended to build upon each students' skill set. Beginners and intermediate students alike will gain confidence and learn new techniques during this course. This skills-based course will take you through a variety of the most important garment techniques. We'll cover one key technique each class meeting, while honing integral skills for any garment sewing project, such as reading a pattern, selecting a size, finding fit, finishing techniques, etc. We will start with a top or dress with a fitting element, focusing on fit and basic construction/finishing techniques. Other skills covered will include various closure options such as invisible zippers and button holes and buttons. We'll get to learn from each other's projects and experiences learning advanced sewing techniques that will level up your garment's finish quality. The course will culminate with a section on knit garments, learning how to find the right stitch for a given weight and type of knit, how to use a double needle, serger, and cover-stitch machine. If you're feeling apprehensive or nervous or even curious, well then, this class is for you! Build your skills and confidence and love your wardrobe while you're at it! Basic sewing/quilting tools will be available for use at FINCH during class time. *10% discount for all class supplies purchased in store. Supplies not included unless otherwise stated. FINCH Classes are for adults only unless otherwise noted.

Cancellation Policy

CLASS + EVENT POLICIES (In-person and Online)* • Full payment is due upon signing up for a class, whether in-person or online. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, the spot is not held until payment has been made. • 100% of class fees are refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before the class, whether in-person or online. • There is NO REFUND or TRANSFER to another class if upon cancellation LESS THAN 72 HOURS OF NOTICE IS GIVEN before the start date of the class, whether in-person or online. Sorry, we are unable to make exceptions.
